300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course Course Techniques

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashta (Eight) and Anga (Limbs), i.e. Ashtanga is known as the practice of eight limbs yoga. “Yama-niyama-asana-pranayama-pratyahara-dharana-dyana-samadhyaya-astavangani", these are the eight limbs which is mentioned in Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It is translated as yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.

In Ashtanga Yoga, a yogi performs different limbs and at last attains the highest state, i.e. Samadhi. All the eight limbs of the body are the process which allows one to go deeper and deeper into the practice and discover the divinity within oneself. Yoga in Bali teaches Ashtanga Yoga to students coming from various parts of the world.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a class of active or flowing asanas. It is full of movements and asanas that are linked together with breath. Imagine it simply like different dance steps linking together to form dance. The simple purpose of this style is to create a dynamic flow.

No two classes are the same in Vinyasa Yoga. If we understand it with definition, then "VI" in Vinyasa means "Variation" and "Nyasa" in it means "Within specific parameters". With Yoga Teacher Training in Bali at The Bali Yoga School, students get to learn the proper technique with theoretical and practical classes of Vinyasa Yoga.

Hatha Yoga

Starting with the definition of Hatha, "Ha" means "the esoteric sun" and "Tha" means "the moon". An objective of Hatha yoga practice is simply to join these two energies (i.e. the sun and the moon) or balance them. It is also known as "the yoga of force" as Hatha also means "force".

The class of Hatha involves physical postures, i.e. yoga poses and various breathing techniques. It differs from Vinyasa yoga in the fact that the Hatha class is practiced slowly as compared to that of Vinyasa.
